BOSSI

Boston University & Open Source Software

Boston University Open Source Initiative, also known as BOSSI is an initiative started by BU SPARK to increase student engagement in the open source space. We hold weekly meetings, with talks and workshops surrounding open source concepts/ideas. Our mission is to expose students to everything open source from concepts to contributions.

We aim to accomplish this mission in three main ways:

  • Workshops - During our weekly meetings we might have workshops that aim to teach students new skills
  • Talks - We plan to bring in industry experts to come give talks about their experience in technology, tech talks about new technologies, and more!
  • Projects - BOSSI has projects that students can contribute to, but we also will try and help students find beginner friendly open source communities to get involved with

For all students (we welcome students from local Boston schools as well) interested, please reach out to Emmanuel at eampons@bu.edu. Similarly, if you are an industry expert and would like to get innvolved, please reach out at the same email!
